Katherine Heigl reveals that she grew up in a white bubble and how this realization affected the way she raised her adopted, multiracial kids. In recent episodes of "Firefly Lane", "Grey's Anatomy" as well as "Grey's Anatomy", star Katherine Heigl admitted that she did not care about the color of her skin until she came across her adopted sister from South Korea. Meg was asked whether her treatment was different while they were together with their parents or in the case of going out on their own. She said, 'Oh, sure, I was treated the same way all the time!' Heigl told her parents this made her realize how foolish she was. She admitted to becoming upset, but she felt that she had use that anger to help adopt her daughters. Heigl as well as her husband of 13 years -- the musician Josh Kelley -- have a 4-year-old son together, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea at the age of 12 in 2009. followed by Adalaide aged 8 who is now young and Black as of 2012.
