Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson (born Kristen Noel Swanson) is an American actor who became famous as the character Buffy Summers. Her other parts include Rebecca Becky Granger, in the Telefilm Nightingales & the short lived NBC show with similar name, Erica Paget as Early Edition on CBS and Marlowe Viccellio as Psych. As a California native, Swanson was interested in acting from the time she was a child. She began working in the world of advertising, appearing in many commercials. In one episode, she appeared in the NBC sitcom It's Your Turn in 1984. The actress made her debut on the big screen in 1986 romantic comedy Pretty in Pink. Swan is known for her blonde lisp and her breathless voice. In recent years, she's moved between main characters and secondary characters. She won her the Young Artist Award in 1989 for Best Young Actress in Horror or the Mystery Motion Picture in the film Flowers in the Attic.
