Emily Irene VanCamp is a Canadian actor who is known for her leading roles in numerous television series and also for her powerful performance in films. The popularity of her is shared by both Canadian and American TV. Emily started acting when she was 12 after visiting her older sister Katie on one of Katie's films. She began taking classes in acting and auditions when she realized that she was passionate about acting. She was initially cast in commercials, but she was not cast until receiving a callback for the Canadian television show for children Are You Scared of Darkness? She was only seen in one scene, without dialog. In the year 15 Emily got her first big break when she became a regular on the WB series Glory Days. Emily's acting talent attracted the attention of Greg Berlanti when the series was cancelled after nine short episodes. The show's creator cast Emily in Everwood which is his upcoming TV show. Emily was an accomplished ballet dancer and was also a photographer. Teen listed her as one top actress under 20. Maxim placed her at number 51 on its Hot 100 of 2014.
